Fuscospora fusca (Syn. Nothofagus fusca)

Handsome, pyramidal specimen and timber tree. Young trees have bright-red foliage during winter. Rapid early growth. Strong durable red timber. Clips well to a tall formal hedge. Suits a cool, moist, sheltered site with deep, well-drained soil. The small bronzy leaves are highly regarded for floral work. Prefers inland areas and dislikes salt winds. Evergreen. Hardy. Approx 30m at maturity.
