Melicytus ramiflorus

Mahoe.  Also known as Whiteywood. One of our most common trees, found in forest and shrub throughout New Zealand. Quick growing. Widely used as a re-vegetation species. Very hardy. The tiny flowers are produced abundantly in spring and are followed by numerous purple-black berries attracting birds.
